Vinification and ageing
After crushing and de-stalking, the must is macerated for 8-12 days in vertical vinification tanks, a process which encourages considerable extraction of color and polyphenolic substances. After its malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 6 months in Slavonian oak barrels.
A bright and luminous ruby-red.
Fruity, with hints of wild berries, flowers and spices.
Well-balanced and full-bodied, with very good length on the finish.
Serve at around 16°C. (61°F.) - a little cooler than usual for a red wine.
Its characteristic fruitiness makes it an ideal wine for drinking throughout a meal. It goes well with pasta or rice dishes, sauces, stewed meats, and moderatelyaged or mature cheeses.
